The problem
The first version of the app had grown hard to maintain, and users still typed most of their records in by hand. It wasn't ready for a paid public launch.
The approach
A ground-up rebuild. Automatic data entry became the main way in, with manual entry kept only as a fallback, and the security model was rebuilt before taking payments.
What I built
- Paid subscriptions, priced in Indian rupees
- Automatic syncing of users' data from desktop software, through a small agent that runs on their computer
- AI that reads screenshots and PDFs and turns them into structured entries
- Analytics dashboards and risk tracking
How it's built
Next.js and TypeScript, with Supabase for accounts, the database and file storage. Every table has row-level security, so each user can only ever see their own data. Secrets and account credentials are encrypted and never reach the browser. Payments run through Razorpay.
Result
Rebuilt from scratch and live in 2026, with paid plans priced for the Indian market.
